She was handed a new identity when she was released under licence from jail in 1980. In 2003 Carr pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice and was given a three-and-a-half-year prison sentence. Carr originally told police she had been with Huntley at home in Soham on the night of the murder. According to The Mirror, Carr became a mother in 2011, and remarried in 2014.
